US Source of Lithium Hydroxide and Mineral byproducts

Powering America’s Clean Energy Transition

Ideal US location. Strong market fundamentals. World class project. Piedmont Lithium is developing a world-class integrated lithium business in the United States, enabling the transition to a net zero world and the creation of a clean energy economy in America. Our location in the renowned Carolina Tin Spodumene Belt of North Carolina, the cradle of the lithium industry, positions us to be one of the world’s lowest cost producers of lithium hydroxide, and the most strategically located to serve the fast-growing US electric vehicle supply chain. The unique geographic proximity of our resources, production operations and prospective customers, places us on the path to be the most sustainable provider of lithium hydroxide in the world and should allow Piedmont to play a pivotal role in supporting America’s move to the electrification of transportation and energy storage.

Made in the USA. Making a Difference for the USA.

Lithium, is lithium, is lithium, right? Well, not exactly. There is a difference, and the difference is significant when you value the importance of a U.S.-based supply chain to support EV growth.

Never has the old saying, “Location, location, location” been more on point. Changing the dynamics of the electric vehicle-related supply chain is a key component in helping create the U.S. new energy economy.

Lithium, specifically lithium-hydroxide produced from spodumene ore in the United States, can play a critical role in building a uniquely American supply chain for the fast-growing electric vehicles market.

Piedmont Lithium is on target to become the only integrated producer of lithium hydroxide from spodumene ore in the United States. With assets located in the mineral rich, world-renowned Carolina Tin Spodumene belt in North Carolina, we’re just 25 miles west of the bustling city of Charlotte. This highly strategic location allows us to drive accessibility and affordability for American companies who are, in large part, currently tied to material resources in remote parts of the world that impact their entire business model.

The Promise of Our Project. A homefield advantage.

With our geographically strategic North Carolina location, we are uncommonly positioned to totally reimagine and reinvent the conventional lithium supply chain. US electric vehicle and battery manufacturers will have a more cost-effective option to the Australia/Latin America/China supply routes. The key is the size and richness of the deposits that are part of the Carolina Tin Spodumene Belt.

Sustainable Operations. Our power has a purpose.

Piedmont has developed a more stable and sustainable Lithium production solution designed to provide a significantly smaller footprint. We have a responsibility to be good stewards of the land, our planet, our environment, and our community. Doing our work in the most sustainable way possible is our number one priority because we understand what we produce is directly related to positively impacting the sustainability of our planet by helping to reduce global carbon emissions for future generations.

Our Mission

Piedmont Lithium will contribute to U.S. future sustainability through responsible Lithium Hydroxide manufacturing while decreasing reliance on foreign sourcing for the Electric Vehicle industry. Our success will be measured through jobs creation, reduced emissions, and value for our stakeholders.

Creating a US Lithium Supply Chain Helps Create US Jobs

Building a US-based lithium supply chain to support electric vehicle manufacturing holds enormous potential for the U.S. Economy; positively impacting the lives of American workers and American families. In addition to helping improve our quality of life by improving the quality of our environment, lithium-driven businesses create well-paying jobs and economic opportunity.

Location. Location. Location.

In building out a US-based supply chain for electric vehicles and battery manufacturers, accessibility and affordability are key. Our spodumene mineral resources are located within the world-class Carolina Tin-Spodumene Belt (“TSB”) which historically provided most of the western world’s lithium between the 1950s and 1980s. The TSB has been described as one of the largest lithium provinces in the world.
